Good Animation Software?

Posted by Syringes - January 16th, 2018

So, I am trying to get back into animating, and it seems that Adobe Animate CC has changed a lot, I dont know if people still even use it, if not, anyone have some good animation softwares to suggest?

Have you heard about swf. kicking the bucket by 2020? Yes that's right all flash games won't be supported on the upcoming computer generation and browsers. I heard they are going to change the name of the file by then, also Swivel isn't compatible with the new Adobe Animate camera system, and you'll have to pay extra money down to get another Adobe CC program that converts it to streaming.

For my next animation I was thinking of using this free animation software from Studio Ghibli I named Opentoonz, it recently just got a powerful update. There's also Blender 3d it's a free 3D animation, game, movie editor program. I'd suggest Scratch too but it's garbage. Other than that there's Toon Boom,Maya, Cinema 4d, and Anime Studio.

Pretty sure the content on this page has been updated in the past few months: https://www.newgrounds.com/wiki/creator-resources/animation-resources
Animation's still like cooking to me, you can have blenders and presses, but it still takes about the same amount of time to prepare and clean up. Wishing you the happiest, best and most productive 2018 you can have!
